Respiratory Care New Graduates
Children’s has one of the most professional, successful and competent respiratory care staffs in the United States. Beginning with new employee orientation, we provide extensive, comprehensive training and orientation to help you transition from student to professional.
Our orientation program was designed with you in mind to be highly supportive and appropriately paced. New graduate Respiratory Care Practitioners are paired with a designated preceptor providing one-on-one clinical and technical training. The unit-based orientation will vary and can last up to three months. In addition, ongoing continuing education opportunities are abundant. New graduates cross-training opportunities exist in the following areas:
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Emergency Department
- General acute care areas
As a Children’s RCP, you’ll provide high-quality interventions in an acute children’s hospital, RCPs perform advanced practice opportunities (i.e. intubations, high-risk neonatal delivery teams, transport team members) while serving as an active part of the Hospital’s collaborative approach to patient care. RCPs are also encouraged to attend continuing education program and receive hospital sponsored support of BLS, NRP and PALS certification.
