Vice President of Foundation

Jim Meinert is vice president, philanthropy at Children’s Hospital Central California.  Jim leads the fundraising efforts for Children's including major gifts, planned giving, special events, the Guilds of Children’s Hospital, and the Foundation’s board of directors. He successfully led the Campaign for Children's that raised more than $42 million for the Hospital. He especially values and continues to strengthen the Hospital’s relationship with the Guilds, which have served as the backbone of the organization’s philanthropy for some 60 years. 

Jim served at several colleges and universities including the State Center Community College District, where he began his professional fundraising career as the first executive director of the State Center’s Foundation and Grants program.  More recently, Jim served for seven years as vice president, Foundation and development at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, Calif.

He is active in many Central Valley organizations, including East Fresno Rotary and the Fresno Estate Planning Council. His professional affiliations include the Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Planned Giving Council, and the National Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.

Jim holds a bachelor’s of arts in history, a master’s of education and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Oregon.
