Dr. Ana Lia Graciano is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Graciano is the Director of Pediatric Resident Rotation in Critical Care at Children’s Hospital. She is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine where she serves at the Resident Education Committee. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics where she serves as one of the California chapter liaison members in the Pediatric Critical Care Section. Ana Lia Graciano, MD

Dr. Graciano is the principal investigator for Children’s Hospital Central California for the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI), a network of critical care specialists across North America. PALISI’s ultimate goal is to perform multicenter clinical research studies to identify optimal supportive, preventive and therapeutic strategies for acute lung injury, sepsis, multi-organ failure, and other acute life-threatening pulmonary or systemic inflammatory syndromes that affect infants and children. Dr. Graciano is also an Advisory Board Member on the Northern California Pediatric Intensive Care Network, a consortium of pediatric intensive care physicians representing pediatric intensive care units throughout Northern California with the primary goal to improve the care of critically ill children through education, collaborative research and knowledge exchange.

Dr. Graciano is actively involved in clinical research and education, has published in peer reviewed journals and has collaborated in pediatric critical care textbooks. She has been the recipient of several awards, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine Annual Scientific Award. She is currently the Academic Division Chief for Pediatric Critical Care at the UCSF-Fresno pediatric residency program.

Dr. Graciano earned her doctorate degree from the National University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina. She completed her initial pediatric training in Argentina. She moved to the United States after earning an award for Advanced Medical Studies and was a visiting scholar and research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School. She completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Children's Medical Center of Dallas-University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Fellow. 

Dr. Graciano is fluent in English and Spanish and is conversant in French and Italian.
