A graduate from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dr. Alicia Herrera completed her pediatric residency at Martin Luther King Drew Medical Center Pediatric Department in Los Angeles, Calif. She did a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Mattel Children’s Hospital at University of California, Los Angeles.
Board certified in pediatrics from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Herrera is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has given several presentations on topics including coarctation of aorta, acute pancreatitis and muscular dystrophy. Dr. Herrera has conducted research on hemolytic uremic syndrome due to Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia and herparin-induced thrombocytopenia in pediatric cardiac ECMO. She is also fluent in Spanish.
