Dr. Edsel Arce-Hernandez is a pediatric rheumatologist at Children’s. He dedicated eight years to the research of childhood lupus. His work has been published in numerous journals including the “Journal of Immunology,” “Journal of Human Immunology,” “Science, Arthritis & Rheumatism” and “Current Opinion in Rheumatology.”
Prior to joining Children’s, Dr. Arce-Hernandez served as assistant professor of pediatrics at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and assistant professor of pediatrics in the Pediatric Rheumatology Department at University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.
After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Arce-Hernandez completed a residency in pediatrics at University Pediatric Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Dr. Arce-Hernandez is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.
