Board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Jorge Gálvez joined Children’s Hospital Central California in July 2011 as a pediatric anesthesiologist. His areas of special interest include pain management, regional anesthesia and neonatology.

Dr. Jorge GalvezRecently completing his postgraduate education and training, Dr. Gálvez earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. He did his internship in medicine at Yale Primary Care Program, and his residency in anesthesiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, both in New Haven, Conn. Dr. Gálvez completed his fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Penn.

Dr. Gálvez has published in peer-reviewed publications such as “Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography” and “Anesthesiology.” He has also presented on a broad range of topics across the country, including ethical considerations for a popliteal block for teenage girls, and telemedicine and anesthesia.

Dr. Gálvez is a member of several professional societies, including the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS).

Dr. Gálvez is fluent in Spanish.
