As Medical Director of Nephrology at Children’s, Dr. Jerome Murphy is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Murphy’s work has been published in numerous publications including the “International Journal of Pediatric Nephrology,” the “Journal of Pediatric Surgery” and the “Journal of Pediatrics.”

Dr. Jerome MurphyPrior to joining Children’s, Dr. Murphy served as associate professor of pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and acting chief of pediatric nephrology at University of California, Davis Medical Center.

Dr. Murphy earned his medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas, Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency in pediatrics at University Hospitals of Cleveland Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Ohio and University of California, San Diego Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at University of California, San Diego Medical Center.

Dr. Murphy speaks Spanish and French. He is also a member of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association.
