Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Marcial Salvador joined Children’s Hospital as a pediatric hospitalist in January 2010. Dr. Salvador provides pediatric services for Specialty Medical Group (SMG), Children’s physician partner, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock through our partnership with the hospital. He joined us from Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., where he provided pediatric services in the center’s outpatient practice along with nursery and inpatient duties and emergency room (ER) consultations. In that role he also participated in neonatal and pediatric ER resuscitation and C-sections.
A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Salvador published in “Acta Medica Philippina” and co-authored several research studies through the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Salvador was also a school physician at Brushton-Moira Central School District in Brushton, N.Y.
Dr. Salvador received his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed an internship at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital and a pediatric residency at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center Program in Queens, N.Y. During his residency, Dr. Salvador did pediatric inpatient and PICU rotations and extensive rotations in the Hospital’s Level III NICU.
While in medical school, Dr. Salvador was a tenor in the school’s choir. He is fluent in Filipino. Dr. Salvador lives with his wife and two daughters.
