Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Paul Parker joined Children’s in May 2004 as a pediatric hospitalist. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Parker has more than 10 years’ experience in pediatrics. His work has been published in professional journals including “Pediatrics” and “The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology Journal.” Prior to joining Children’s, Dr. Parker had a general pediatric practice in Vista, Calif., and practiced hospital-based pediatrics at City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, Calif. His experience also includes having served as medical director of the St. John’s Well Child Center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Parker was a clinical instructor at the University of California, San Diego and currently serves at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno campus. He was the San Diego Chapter Facilitator for Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) of the American Academy of Pediatrics. As part of CATCH, he was also the program director for the Special Kids Healthcare Consortium, in which he developed healthcare strategies for low-income children with special needs.
Dr. Parker received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, and completed a general pediatrics internship and residency at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
