Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric critical care medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Robert Dimand has more than 20 years’
experience in pediatric critical care medicine. He is chief of the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Central California.
Dr. Dimand has served in an administrative capacity as vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics at University of California (UC), Davis, chair of the Pediatric Joint Practice at Mercy Healthcare in Sacramento, and program director of University Children’s Hospital at UC Davis. His is published in numerous professional journals including “Pediatric Research” and “Annals of Emergency Medicine.” He has also given many clinical and scientific presentations to universities, healthcare organizations and professional societies including the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Dimand has conducted several research studies in pediatric critical care medicine including the use of telemedicine to provide pediatric critical care.
An active member of the community, Dr. Dimand served as president of the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald Charities of Northern California and chair of Children’s Miracle Network Telethon Clinical and Educational Awards Committee.
A graduate from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Dr. Dimand completed his internship and residency in pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at UC Davis, where he served as chief resident. He did a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at UC Davis, and in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh-University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Dr. Dimand also completed a fellowship in healthcare leadership through Sierra Healthcare Foundation, University of Southern California.
