Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Steven Foster belongs to multiple professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the American Osteopathic Association. He has given lectures as well as presentation to residents and is the Associate Pediatric Program Director of UCSF Fresno Pediatrics. Dr. Foster is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and a Clinical Professor with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program.

An active member of Children’s medical staff, Dr. Foster serves on several Hospital committees including the National Patient Safety Goal 3D: Medication Labeling committee and the Emergency Medical Response Team.

After graduating from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California, Dr. Foster completed a pediatric residency at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno (UCSF Fresno) Medical Education Program, where he served as Chief Resident. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
