Annual Donor Recognition Dinner

8/11/2008

The Annual Donor Recognition Dinner on April 7 honored donors who have made gifts totaling $10,000 or more. Over 250 donors attended the event, held at the home of John and Lisa Bonadelle. Lisa (a new Foundation Board Member) along with her husband John, graciously hosted the evening.

A video presentation showcased Carter Williams, daughter of Kevin (Foundation Board member) and Stacey Williams. Carter is a patient at the Willson Heart Center at Children’s and was the Kids Day Ambassador. President and CEO William Haug began the program offering his gratitude to donors and sharing his vision of Children’s Hospital and what the future holds for our community. He read a letter from an employee – allowing a glimpse into the daily care Children’s provides to patients and what a privilege it is to work with these children everyday. Children’s Hematologist/Oncologist Dr. Robert Mignacca followed, speaking on the specialized care that is available to our children right here in the Central Valley. Medical Director of Hematology and interim Medical Director of Oncology (which is currently engaged in numerous national cancer trials), his main interest is on teaching residents the complexities of hematology.

Nearly 60 donors were honored for their contributions during the past year. Jim Meinert, Foundation Vice President, served as the Master of Ceremonies and recognized Guild members in the audience and presented bouquets of flowers to each Guild, honoring their long time commitment and lifetime contributions totaling more than $20 million – the largest donors to the Hospital.
Top honorees were brought to the stage and personally thanked by Board of Trustee Chair Mendy Laval and Foundation Board Chair George Murphy. The top recognition level for donors was the Pacesetter Level Donors - $1 million and above:

  • ABC 30
  • The Fresno Bee
