A compassionate community joined forces with KISS Country 93.7, a radio station with a big heart, and helped raise $238,178 for Children’s Hospital Central California during the 11th Annual Change Bandit program and Radiothon this year. “This is a tremendous success,” said James Meinert, vice president philanthropy at Children’s Hospital. “We can’t thank our supporters, volunteers, sponsors and KISS Country friends enough for their generosity.”
This year’s Change Bandit program took place during July and August with a wrap-up celebration concert on August 27th featuring country music star Ritchie MacDonald at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds. Hundreds of Central Valley fans collected coins and cash totaling at least $100 each and dropped off their “loot” as their entrance ticket to the concert.
The Radiothon hit the KISS airwaves Thursday, September 24th from 5 a.m. through Saturday, September 26, at 7 p.m. Many patients and families stopped by to share their stories with the listeners and encouraged support of Children’s. KISS on-air personalities also walked throughout the hospital talking to patients and staff about the excellent care at the Hospital.
The KISS Country for Kids Radiothon and Change Bandit Program has raised more than $3.5 million for the patients at Children’s Hospital Central California since it began in 1999. The Radiothon is proudly sponsored by Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Fresno Lexus and Pro Travel Fresno.
