Congressman Dennis Cardoza paid a visit to Children's Hospital Central California to tour the facilities and to meet with hospital President and Chief Executive Officer William Haug.
Cardoza and Haug discussed federal issues pertaining to the hospital, including health care funding. Following their meeting, Cardoza toured the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units and Starship Craycroft, the hematology and oncology inpatient unit. Cardoza spoke with nurses and greeted patients.
Cardoza represents the 18th district which includes Merced County and portions of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Madera and Fresno Counties. Now in his third term, he serves as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee's Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture. He also is on the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry and the Subcommittee on Conservation, Credit, Energy and Research. Cardoza is on the House Rules Committee and the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.
