When you can't make it to "the greatest show on earth," the next best thing is a private performance just for you.
That was the case for patients at Children's Hospital Central California. Boys and girls who were in the hospital during the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus' stop in Fresno were treated to a private show in the hospital's donor recognition area.
"This visit will be the highlight of the day for many of our patients," said Child Life Specialist Marian Facciani. "It's always a special treat to have the clowns come to the hospital."
There were plenty of oohs, ahs and laughs from the audience as the clowns pulled gags on one another, juggled and performed tricks.
Following the show, patients had a chance to mix, mingle and take pictures with the entertainers. The children who couldn't leave their rooms didn't miss out. The clowns went room to room to bring the fun to them.
"Just to see the smiles on their faces makes it worthwhile," said Facciani. "We're thankful the performers made time to do this for our kids."
The Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus perform at Selland Arena July 9 – 13.
