Perinatology

Pregnant woman

Children's Hospital Central California and Saint Agnes Medical Center have expanded their 25 year partnership to bring an exceptional team of perinatologists to our region. Combining perinatology services with Children's neonatal and subspecialty expertise and Saint Agnes' award-winning birthing center ushers in a brand-new era in the medical approach to at-risk pregnancies.

Our perinatologists provide consultations and coordinate multidisciplinary care as needed for high-risk patients and unborn babies. Our team approach includes collaborating with mom's doctor, and
the neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists at Children’s, to ensure the most favorable outcome for the baby and the health of the mother.

The perinatology outpatient practice is located at Children’s where the team has direct access– under one roof–to neonatologists in our Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and expert teams that offer specialized pediatric treatment or surgery.

We assist mom's doctor in reducing patient complications–from managing the mom’s diabetes, hypertension or thyroid condition, to addressing preeclampsia or preterm labor–enabling mom's doctor to deliver more comfortably at your birthing center.

Our antepartum services and procedures are provided at Saint Agnes, where Children’s has operated a NICU for nearly 25 years. High-risk deliveries that mom's doctor would like us to manage will also be done at Saint Agnes. There we can work closely with mom's doctor, mom and other practitioners. These include Children’s Regional Level III trained neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists who work at Saint Agnes to optimize the patient’s and their baby’s chances for a healthy delivery and life.

Services Offered and Conditions Treated
